Repetition is an essential part of Franziska Stolzenaus artistic practice and the underlying motive in many of her works. In the repetitive movement she explores her physical limits and mental boundaries.

In her work she deconstructs the process of becoming art and the creative act itself.

By repeating seemingly trivial basic elements and making the supposedly sweet and banal the subject of her art, photographs, drawings and video works reveal themselves as depictions of emotional intensity. Blur is an expression of the overwhelming multidimensionality.

Using the process in its reduced form, repetition itself becomes an artistic work. Repetition is always the same yet new in every sense.
